Mom's Blog

Day 3: Changzhou

Mom reunites with an elementary-school friend in Changzhou and reflects on school, activities, Minecraft, and iCode.

I met a friend from elementary school today. We haven't seen each other since 2016, so it's been 10 years. Luckily, we still recognized each other because we haven't changed too much.

She has two boys: one is 12, and the other is 8, about five months younger than you. The older one is in sixth grade and has many extracurricular activities. For example, he has English tutoring on Friday evening; math and reading on Saturday morning; badminton in the afternoon; and another English class in the evening. Then he has to finish his homework on Sunday, so he has almost no time to play. Poor kid! I feel bad for him. What do you think? His favorite game is Minecraft, and he likes space. Perhaps you two can have a playdate together next time you come to Changzhou.

I really like your blogs about the swimming evaluation and iCode. I have one question about the first sumo-wrestling competition: did you win? You mentioned that Ryan and Oliver weren't interested in using the "if" block. What's your favorite thing at iCode? By the way, I couldn't leave a comment on your blog; it says "missing post snug." Could you please look into it?

You mentioned drawing an apple tree. What tree is in the attached picture?

Love,
Ling
