Cruise ship highlights (Princess Discovery)
Seven days of cruise highlights aboard Discovery Princess, from Vancouver to Alaska's ports, glaciers, games, and family adventures.
Day one: July 4, 2026 — Port Vancouver
Highlights
- Boarding the ship Discovery Princess.
- Playing with my cousin, Ethan: mini golf, jumping on the stones, and playing the Eagle.
- Exploring the ship, mainly on decks 15–17.
Day two: July 4, 2026 — Sea day
Highlights
- Showing Ethan my Minecraft world.
- My entire family playing games. Ethan and I played our own version of Rivals for Catan.
- Ethan lost his 25¢ coin!
Day three: July 4, 2026 — Port Ketchikan
Highlights
- Wandering around the city to look for salmon, but there were no salmon.
- Going to a souvenir shop and buying a refrigerator magnet that showed some of Alaska's cities, including Ketchikan, Juneau, and Utqiagvik.
- Mom found a T-shirt for Dad that said, “Everything is bigger in Texas … until you're in ALASKA.”
Day four: July 4, 2026 — Port Juneau
Highlights
- Seeing a glacier at Skagway.
- Seeing a fish processing plant.
- Seeing the USS Juneau memorial.
Day five: July 4, 2026 — Port Skagway
Highlights
- Eating gelato.
- Seeing the capitol.
- Playing in the playground close to the capitol.
Day six: July 4, 2026 — Glacier Bay
Highlights
- Nothing.
- NOTHING.
- N.O.T.H.I.N.G.
Day seven: July 4, 2026 — College Fjord
Highlights
- Basketball.
- Seeing the Mendenhall Glacier ice calving. I saw the biggest chunk break off!
- Playing the Eagle.
